TURF FARM
We Have The Freshest Grass & Turf – Here’s How We Do It
We provide many varieties of grass and turf that are fresh from the turf farm. Varieties of turf and grass, such as Raleigh St. Augustine, Palmetto St. Augustine, Tifway, Zoysia, Bermuda, Centipede, and Buffalo are the most requested types of grass in the College Station and Bryan area.
We send trucks to the turf farm each day to collect different varieties of grass.
The pallets are delivered in under two hours from the time it was harvested, and that means each and every pallet of grass you purchase is fresh and healthy.
Time: 9:00 AM
A SiteOne driver leaves our College Station location and travels to the turf farm in an 18 wheeler, flatbed truck. On this trip, he brings back Raleigh St. Augustine, but on other trips, he collects Palmetto St. Augustine, Tifway, Bermuda, Centipede, Buffalo or Zoysia.
As he arrives at the farm, the fields are a carpet of bright green, covered by various types of turf and grass. Some turf and grass is used for residential landscaping and some is used for commercial purposes. Some of the specialized turf and grass, like Tifway, is planted on golf courses.
Donnie inspects fields of Raleigh St. Augustine, Palmetto St. Augustine, Tifway, Bermuda, and Zoysia, Centipede, Buffalo and Bermuda before the purchase.
This is healthy grass – there are no weeds growing in the fields. SiteOne will only purchase turf and grass from growers who insist on growing a high quality product.
Time: 9:43 AM
The grass and turf is harvested in the field, and depending on the depth to which the grass was harvested, one pallet could weigh approximately 2000 to 3000 pounds.
The pallets of Raleigh St. Augustine, Palmetto St. Augustine, Tifway, Bermuda, Bermuda, Centipede, Buffalo and Zoysia grass or turf you purchase from SiteOne contains a nice healthy soil base.
Time: 9:50 AM
As the pallets of Raleigh St. Augustine are loaded on the truck, a SiteOne driver inspects the grass and carefully covers each section to prepare it for the ride home.
After the truck has been fully loaded, the pallets are strapped down to ensure a safe trip back to College Station.
Time: 10:01 AM
The driver leaves the turf farm to travel back to SiteOne in the College Station-Bryan area.
Time: 10:30 AM
Once the truck arrives back to SiteOne, the pallets are unloaded and are ready for you to purchase.
